If you don’t have a blog for your online website, you are missing out on a huge opportunity for targeting your ideal audience. Blog posts are typically written as a means of offering valuable and helpful information that the reader can apply to their business. Each time you add a new blog post to your website, you should be promoting that all over social media.  

Relevant Articles

Consider adding a few relevant industry articles to your social media schedule each month. For example, if you’re a website design agency, find an article from a fellow website design company that you trust, and post it on your Facebook or Twitter pages. Be sure to include a link as well as tag that same company in the post. Giving kudos to others in your niche shows that you’re a team player, and also lets them know you exist too.

Behind-The-Scenes Photos

Share a few photos of schedules of upcoming events, future product releases, or behind-the-scenes planning. This is a great way to introduce a new product, service, or event that you haven’t even launched yet. You will create suspense and excitement for your followers by sharing these types of behind-the-scenes photos. 


There are times it’s perfectly acceptable to post images and content that is completely unrelated to your business. If your followers are constantly inundated with business content, they will quickly become bored and possibly no longer follow you. Make a list of some inspirational or funny quotes that speak to you. You can post at least one or two a week, to break up the monotony of always sharing information about your business.


Asking questions, related or unrelated to your business, is another effective method of connecting with your audience. People love to share their opinions, especially on social media. You can ask questions such as, “What’s your favorite TV show?”, “Do you drink tea or coffee in the morning?”, or “Are you a morning or night person?” You can also ask other types of questions, like fill-in-the-blank or this-or-that questions.
